Back 2 Tha Bubble

A treatment by Justin Lance

BLACK SCREEN

Titles Roll - Big, Bold, and Colorful letters against a black background.

The titles are intercut with black and white news footage, reporting cases of police brutality.

We fade in on a wide angle static shot of WEBBIE, smoking a blunt, seated in his home with a beautiful WOMAN, watching a television, which is off-screen, that is bathing the two in it’s light.

The camera slowly begins pushing forward as the sound of the news continues to fill the room and Woman lights a blunt, takes a drag, and blows it’s smoke into the air.

As the camera continues to push closer, she hands the blunt to Webbie who hits it and exhales.

As the camera settles into a close-up of Webbie, he takes one final hit and exhales.

WEBBIE:

Fuck this.

BLACK SCREEN

HOST (Voice Over):

“Ladies and Gentlemen! Tonight, l present to you one of the greatest wonders of the world! Park your cares at the door! For one night only we give you…”

The beat drops.

We fade into a ultra slow-motion shot of a woman’s bubble-butt twerking on a stage.

TITLE CARD: BACK 2 THA BUBBLE

After a moment, we continue to intercut a multitude of similar slow-motion shots, all different women wearing different color thong bikinis, along with stock, black and white, footage of police brutality, and an assortment of shots of the city of Baton Rouge and it’s inhabitants.

After a moment, we cut out to a wide angle shot, revealing the stage the women are twerking on to be set up at a large outdoor barbeque complete with a live DJ and a HOST, older and large, who is screaming into a microphone at a roaring crowd of people.

As the first verse begins, Webbie, captured in a long tracking shot, breaks through the crowd, holding a beer and chicken leg, and begins delivering lines to the camera as he moves throughout the party greeting friends, vibing to the music, and begins to participate as judge in the twerking contest.

This first verse is also intercut with, a, mounted, static shot of Webbie delivering his lyrics tooling around Baton Rouge in a big-bodied, drop-top car. Seated next to him is the beautiful woman from his home who is still rolling up blunts in the passenger seat.

As the verse builds we intercut footage of him about town, greeting different Baton Rouge locals and taking pictures with fans.

As the chorus loops back in, these scenes continue to intercut with slow-motion footage of the twerking contest and the barbeque along with shots of Webbie and Company chanting the lyrics to the camera.

As the song fades out…

CUT

The camera, a black and white image, follows a YOUNG MAN, black, and a YOUNG WOMAN, white, as they hold hands and walk down an empty sidewalk.

The young man looks back at the young woman’s backside and smirks.

He slides his hand down her back and places it on her butt.

She swats his hand away and giggles.

YOUNG MAN:

You got a bubble though. For real.

A police car turns the corner and its lights flip on.

The young man and woman freeze.

POLICE OFFICER, white, steps out of the car and begins approaching the young man.

The camera pushes slowly into the young man’s face as he stops and stares forward.
