Flava

A short film profiling a day in the life of, Atlanta-based, producer/rapper Matt Steez. We follow as he explores his roots (Free My Niggas), lives the life of a rockstar and meets Fiona, a beautiful social media influencer in Atlanta (Flava), and, after a wild night, ends up being framed for Fiona’s murder by her abusive ex, a local fashion mogul, sending him on the run from cops and the mogul’s gang (BedWet). 

Captured in a run and gun, moody and atmospheric, style, that harkens back to independent art house cinema as well as, the grainy and saturated images of, 70's exploitation cinema, the film's three segments are tied together by vignettes that come together to explore Steez' immediate worldview and highlight his attempts to stay true to his origins all while creating a life of love, creativity, and style against a backdrop of violence and history that is constantly biting at his feet.
